My illustration received Koenji-award from the Machi-Naka (Downtown) Art Design Contest @Koenji, the contest received the submission of 146 original designs.
This award was aimed to attract more people to the area, improve the beauty of the city as well as preventing illegal graffiti by using art designs on “Transformer Boxes”(Transformer Boxes are placed on the road for reducing electrical voltage from stores in place of overhead power lines for a cleaner appearance in cities.)
I drew rich in variety cultures of Koenzi as treasure and I titled my works as a treasure box, “Takarabako”. The profound cultures of Koenji are the Tokyo-Koenji Awa-Odori̓s 60th festival, the Koenji Bikkuri Daidogei (Street Performance), Koenji Fes, and Koenji Engei (Entertainment) Festival. There are Koenji Temple and Chosenji Temple, shrines, the performance art facility “Za Koenji Public Theater”, thrift shops amongst a wide variety of stores. The city is also known for foodie local restaurants, music live houses and much more.
Please visit the vibrant city of Suginami Kouenji to see my work.
