I decided the year 2022 would be smooth sailing.
The last December, I decided my first drawing of the year 2022 would be like a Kakizome, to calligraph words or an idiom to set your new year’s vision and your mindset. But instead of calligraphy, my choice of weapon was to draw the kawaii friends 🐸🐭 and my choice of an idiom was Jyunpumanpan: smooth sailing.
It’s a shame to confess that I came across this idiom while binge-watching Instagram amid year-end busyness. I wasn’t attracted to the easy life connotation of this idiom but an inspirational picture that this idiom drew in my head.
Imagine you are on the sailing boat, feeling the sea breeze the temperature is just right to sit on the deck and enjoy your favorite breakfast You can feel the warm rays of the sun on your back You awoke to a beautiful, clear sky and smooth sailing you have plenty of time to plan this fabulous day you have a full day to do what you like
I like to have this peace of mind as much as possible in 2022.
Also, this illustration is a reminder for you and me, that whenever you are reading this, you have enough time to do what you like.
I hope this illustration will help you to bring you back to calm when the storm hits. Keep calm and keep going. What’s important is your trajectory.
Don’t make perfection the goal, make the process the goal.
